I admit it ... I am a bad blogger. I met with potential clients tonight about a future wedding and I first, forgot to mention my blog but second realized that I hadn't posted here in a while.

Fall and Christmas sessions were very busy for me! As much as I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season I do tend to get a tad overwhelmed trying to balance full time teaching, my family and my photography which I love soooo much.

If you are thinking about booking a session in the studio this winter please do not wait to book. If you are expecting, please contact me at the start of your third trimester if you are thinking about newborn photos. A newborn photo session is a great baby shower gift and I do have a great "BABY'S FIRST YEAR PACKAGE" at a great price. At this time I can only book up to two sessions per weekend and weekend appointments are booked at least a couple of weeks in advance.

Deanna Williams Photography Studio had many visitors a couple of weeks before Hallowe'en for our Second Annual Hallowe'en Photo Mini-Session. There was 3-4 setups here at the studio that day, both indoors and outdoors. It's my hope that one day I will have many more spaces to photograph around my yard outside. Here are a few of my favs ...

It has NOT been since September since I last blogged ... nope, that date on my last post has got to be wrong! I admit it! I am an awful blogger. I prefer to photograph rather than post to my blog but I have been wanting to share a few of my most favorite photos from my latest sessions. Today I am most proud that for the first time I had twins visit the studio! Twins! Beautiful, gorgeous cuddly twins. I tell ya, I was in my glory!

Christmas is approaching fast. I have a selection of Christmas props and some new props coming in any day now just for the season. New backdrops have arrived and I was excited to actually use them today with my twins!
There are three session types available for Christmas. The last session to guarantee Christmas delivery is Sunday, December 12th so don't hesitate to get into the studio. Limited weekend appointments are available and some evening appointments are available too!

I always feel like I run out of time! I've been busy photographing babies, families and a wedding this past weekend. Had a great time as I was able to enjoy the wedding as both a photographer and a guest! I'll be posting photos of the wedding soon as well as a few pics from recent sessions.

HALLOWEEN MINISHOOT $50
(October 16th 2010)
Bring your little ghosts, goblins, princes and princesses to the 2nd annual Halloween Costume Photoshoot to have their portrait taken in their costume! If weather permits we will be outdoors against a backdrop of haybails, pumpkins and red brick. I have a really cool antique wagon too! If the weather is not so kind that day, then we'll move indoors to the studio. These appointment times are 20 minutes in length and include a 5x7 print and a DISC with 5-10 finished, edited high resolution photos with a copyright release for $50 inclusive.

Wow! I was so excited to try out some new props today that I've just acquired for the studio! New props and setups are always coming in so check back often!

Busy day today. One six month old and an engagement shoot, dinner with friends, editing early into the morning ... long day but awesome!

Where has the summer gone?

As the summer winds down and everyone is preparing to go back to school I can't help but look back on what a wonderful summer we've had. My baby boy turned 5 in July. Wow! 5! Why does it have to pass by so quickly. I am thankful to have been busy with my photography over this summer but I just realized the other day that I STILL hadn't done Matty's 5th Birthday photos. You think that being a die hard photographer that you would have found the time to do this small task and so here's hoping that I get a chance to get out with my little man for a shoot before we both head back to school.

Had some great times up at the cottage this summer too! It's so relaxing and such a change of pace from home. I'm so very thankful for all that my mom and dad worked so hard to build for all of us to enjoy. I cherish our time together there.

As for the rest of the summer, it was filled with time spent with family and friends but my most cherished times are those that I spent with Matty.

Oh yeah ... and then there was just a little bit of photography going on too! Ha ha!

I'm just confirming a few more details about our FALL photoshoots and can you believe that clients are already inquiring about Christmas?!?!

Deanna Williams Photography Studio turns 1 year old in September. How quickly I've accumulated props, backdrops, camera equipment and experience too! Thank you to all my supportive clients. I hope to continue to offer fun, flexible, valuable and unique photography to the Niagara Region.

My mom always used to say that "Tomorrow is Another Day". I second that. Tomorrow I'm going to post my summer's best selection of photos but for now it's off to dreamland.

Niagara Newborn Baby Photographer | 3 Beautiful Babies

Wow! What a busy couple of weeks this has been! Matty turned 5 and we had two birthday parties for him. One was for family and the other, yes, wait for it - a school/daycare friend party! The kids were all great I have to say! We rented a bouncer from Anna's Inflatables. It was the hit of the party!

In the last little bit I've also photographed two beautiful weddings (blogger pics to come shortly). I've been too busy editing them! :)

And lastly I've had the opportunity to photograph three gorgeous babies! Newborn shoots take a long time but are so worth the investment (both in time and cost). You end up with these fabulous photos of your baby to cherish forever. They grow up and change soooooo quickly! Here is a look at some of the pics of the three babies I enjoyed photographing!

I thought I would try something new. I made a cute little memory montage set to music of a portion of the images that we took with Olivia. She is such a sweet little girl and I had so much fun 'playing' with the photos I took. I think I'm going to do these more often! Now, I'm still playing around with some settings. It's hard to get "good quality" which is important when showing your photographs while at the same time trying to keep the file size down so Blogger won't complain about file size. I'll figure it out eventually but for now here's Olivia!

Mom loved the video! I was so pleased to hear!

Also, I am so happy and thrilled that I can now boast that I use a Canon 5D Mark II for my photography. Hubby finally 'broke down' and let me splurge. I haven't even had a chance to really explore my new camera but I'm so happy with the full frame! Now I start saving for my next lens. I have two professional L-series Canon lenses that I do most of my work with but I could *really* use a third ;) ... honey?

Anyways! I have more photos to share with you as summer is in full swing around here so are the photoshoots! I'll post again soon with some updated photos!

I am going to be having another referral contest soon where the GRAND PRIZE will be a full photoshoot for your family and Portrait CD of images at any point over the summer months. Stay tuned as it will start on July 1st!

Wow! I think this is one of the longest posts I've ever made. I think I've been in the creative zone lately and it makes me think more about my photography and less about the crazy life I seem to be living! HA! It must be the 5D!

How adorable is this face? Baby Seth, just 3 months old and what a great personality and smile this kid has! I first photographed Seth when he was just a few weeks old. It's a good idea to have your child photographed often during their first year of life. I'm so glad I did. When my son was first born I had him photographed every month for the first year of his life! Boy, am I glad I did too. Babies change soooo quickly. It's nice that I now have all these photos to scrapbook and remember him 'ever so small'. He'll be turning 5 next month!!! Keep those photos up parents! You'll be glad you did!

Wow! After a few quiet months photography has picked up again with full force! I love it! I love to capture these photos for families in and around the Niagara Region! Baby Kendra ~ NIAGARA NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

I never turn down the opportunity to get my "baby fix" and this week I got my fix! Baby Kendra had her first photoshoot at only 5 weeks old! I'm sure it's one of many to come. She was so good and sleepy. It's a great opportunity to get those brand new shots.

On a side note, I regret not going to a "professional studio" to have some special photos captured of my son when he was "so new". I was lucky however to find a photographer that I stuck with for his whole first year and beyond. I took Matty to have his photo taken EVERY MONTH during his first year. Was it overboard? I don't think so. No amount of money is worth the photos and more importantly the memories we made during those photosessions. I have a whole album of photos just waiting to be scrapbooked. Matty is almost 5 now and the time passes by so quickly. He will most likely be my only child. I look back on those photos with the fondest memories that's for sure and I'm so glad I took the time to take him even though every visit wasn't the easiest.

I'm not saying you should do the same but consider perhaps making more of an effort this year to get those photos taken of your children before they are all grown up. Choose a photographer who will work with you and your children to get the best possible photos!

I don't think a family can ever have "too many" family photos taken. It doesn't have to be done in a studio. It can be in your home, your backyard or a park. They can be serious and formal or relaxed and candid, or a bit of both!

Last week I photographed Julie and her family ... two adorable little guys full of energy! Loved it! Here are a few photos from that session. Captured some great photos of the boys with their Dad especially that I love!

I am finally getting around to updating the blog! My family has been sick which is never fun but now we all seem to be on the mend and feeling better. Hopefully everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having here in southern Ontario ... beautiful ... just beautiful! What a Day! ~ NIAGARA EVENT, CHILDREN BABY MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHER

I had a great day yesterday! How often do you say that? In fact, it was a darn good week. Yesterday started out with the GRAND OPENING of the Scrapping Nook.

A friend of mine, Janice opened up her own store in Welland and everyone was on hand to celebrate the ribbon cutting. I even won the grand prize!!!

Can you believe it? Look at all those goodies!

In the afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing Alexander, the cutest little 3 month old. Stephanie visited me for maternity photos late last year. Here are a few photos from that photoshoot in my studio.

Yesterday I visited Stephanie and Alexander along with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpa for some photos in their home. What a cutie! You never know how a photoshoot will go with a little one but we got some great shots!!!

On another note, only one puppy left from the photos above. In my opinion, the best one was saved for last. The last little girl who I affectionately call "Molly". I'll have the pleasure of looking after her while Sarah is in the hospital with Seth. So excited!!!

Anyone looking for a beautiful golden retriever puppy with the sweetest temperament?

A couple of weeks ago I was able to take some gorgeous photos of 7 week old puppies ... here are a few photos from that shoot.

Shortly after the photos were posted one of the three puppies was picked up by their new family! Now, with the two cutest puppies left I took a few more shots of them yesterday. I can't believe how quickly they grow! If I didn't already have two gorgeous Golden's all to myself the little girl would so be mine! :)

After a great first official year for Deanna Williams Photography, I thought it was time to start a blog, yes, finally! I know it had to be done! This will allow clients to see even more of my work flow and get to know me!

My philosophy of photography is that a portrait session or wedding photography should capture the true moments that happen, and not be posed or forced. Of course we need to capture some traditional shots so that means I will tend to set up the shot and see what happens from there. I am there to make sure you look your very best on your special day, and of course have lots of fun!

I was so happy to be selected as the feature photographer for the editorial work in "Brides", a supplement that came in all the major newspapers in the Niagara Region.
